Ellis Anderson is an author, freelance writer/photographer, and she rode out Hurricane Katrina in Bay St. Louis, MS. Her book about the experience Under Surge, Under Siege, the Odyssey of Bay St. Louis and Katrina won the 2010 Eudora Welty Book Award. Her quote on censorship that she shared with us is as follows:
It seems a commendation rather than a condemnation when a book has the power to rile the sorts of people who seek to act as censors for us all.
Thank you, Ellis!
